The Rat City All-Stars lost their second game of the season against Rocky Mountain Rollergirls 5280 Fight Club, currently ranked above RCRG in the WFTDA Western Region. Rocky Mountain took an early lead in the first 25 minutes of the game (52-19), when penalty trouble for Fight Club and some great maneuvering by Rat City blockers and jammer Carmen Getsome led to a lead change by half time with Rat City ahead (62-59). Rat City’s lead opened further by a combination of great defense by Rat City and penalty trouble for Fight Club, with a score of 101-70 with 13 minutes left in the game. Not to go down without swinging, Fight Club slowly chipped away at the points, and with 5 minutes left in the game (RCRG ahead 107-97), RMRG jammer Deranged took advantage of Anya Heels trip to the box as RCRG jammer and brought the score within one point with 3:56 left on the clock. The final three jams of the game Fight Club’s defense clamped down, preventing the Rat City’s jammers from scoring and racking up the points to finish the game 144-107.
