Whats the significance of your derby name and number?
I had a really hard time picking a name and skated for months without one. I’m an Accountant and I settled on the name NumbHer CruncHer for my first bout with the Cincinnati Rollergirls. I shortened it to CruncHer when I came to Rat City. My derby number (404) is the area code for Atlanta, my hometown and favorite place to vacation.
How did you get started playing roller derby?
The derby love affair began in Atlanta when I saw my first bout. But I didn’t pull the trigger until I moved to Cincinnati and met a Cincinnati Rollergirl at a happy hour event. She invited me a to a bootcamp the following weekend and was pretty shocked when I actually showed up! Two months later I was skating on the team. Fast forward a year and a half later, and here I happily sit on Grave Danger!
What is your favorite thing about skating with Rat City?
I get the opportunity to skate with and learn from people that I’ve admired from afar. These ladies are amazing athletes and I learn something new and awesome at every practice.
What was the last thing you ate?
Beets. I love beets.
What is your favorite off skates workout?
CrossFit. And I just recently rediscovered spinning and hot yoga.
At noon, a train leaves Seattle for Portland while another train leaves Portland for Seattle. It takes one train 4 hours and the other 7 hours to make the trip. Both maintain constant speeds and travel along parallel tracks. If you were on one of those trains, what kind of refreshing beverage would you be drinking in the dining car?
A delicious beer, of course!
