Height: Is ‘tall enough to ride” too inappropriate? ‘Cause if so it’s 5’8″.
Favorite Position: Blocker/Pivot
Likes: Body modifications, foreign horror movies and cuddling. Oh, and opposing jammers that are about to have no idea what hit them.
Dislikes: Twilight, Nicolas Sparks and sore losers.
Injuries: I’ve fractured my tailbone twice, my legs are perpetually bruised and I end up bleeding from the mouth far more often than any person should. But luckily I have yet to full on break a bone as a result of coming from sturdy peasant stock.
Motto: Fall seven times, stand up eight.
Favorite Music: 90’s rock (Korn, Rob Zombie, Static X), assorted rap/hip-hop/nerdcore (MC Chris, Eminem, MSF), pretty girly music that totally does not make me cry (Adele, Florence and the Machine) and anything good for dancing. And Never Ever Country.
Favorite Drink: Anything your grandma would drink on a cruise (Madras, Bay Breeze, etc.)
Awards: I once won “Scariest Blocker” at a game against Tahoe. It’s a little plastic star trophy with a home printed label, it seriously looks like a participation award for a Middle School Science Fair and I LOVE IT.
Bio: I started skating with Humboldt Roller Derby in Northern California almost 3 years before I moved to Seattle. Despite my complete lack of skate experience and fitness at the time they took me in and made me a skater and since them I’ve been a blocker, pivot, captain, and coach. I moved to Seattle in July of 2012 and was drafted to Derby Liberation Front in September, which I am so excited about YOU HAVE NO IDEA. This is my gym, my therapy, my community service, my passion, my socialization, my ego boost, my ego check and so much more. I work in mental health and after a long, stressful day all I really want is to strap on some skates and hit a bitch. Is that so wrong?
